(SOLD) VTG Thonet-Style Bistro Chair

$25.00
sold out

This little bentwood chair was repainted red at some point. It is a classic style that fits easily with contemporary, farmhouse, boho, Americana, minimalist, rustic, country & cottage, or art deco decor to name a handful.

Not sure if it is an authentic Thonet but it is held together by 10 screws, like all Thonets, and closely resembles the famed Thonet no 18 chair which has continuously been in existence since 1876.

This little guy was not very well respected in his last homes. As you can see, it bears lots of scuffs and it is missing one strip of caning on the front edge of the chair, however, the caning is still tight. I'm pretty sure it was re-caned and I suspect because of that, the chair is quite old.

It is also missing one piece of hardware but still sits sturdily.
